become a Relationship Based PD Early Childhood Education Peer Mentor
Mentoring occurs between individuals in similar professional roles, with a more experienced individual with adult-learning knowledge and skills providing guidance to the less experienced mentee. Mentoring is intended to increase an individual’s personal/professional capacity and effectiveness. Topics are often identified by the mentee, and have a holistic focus on their areas of growth. Supports reflective process and helps mentee translate theory, information and best practice into application. Mentoring is usually an ongoing relationship that develops over time.
Requirements: Must meet the following qualifications:
- Mentor has understanding of the Relationship-based Professional Development Standards
- Mentor has some relationship-based professional development training
- Mentor has a higher level of professional and educational experience than mentee
