become a WA State-Approved Trainer
State-approved trainers provide ongoing learning opportunities that support the mastery of core competencies, introduction of instructional strategies and foundational concepts in child and youth development and program administration. State-approved trainers may provide workshops, host online trainings, facilitate professional learning communities that will count toward the training requirements for licensed child care professionals referenced in WAC 110-300. Requirements:
- Must be approved as a trainer by DCYF
- Meets the trainer competencies
- Understands Washington’s guiding frameworks
- Understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design
- Knowledge of the content area of the offered training
